Powai Fest 2014

January 2014 will bring an addition to the list of art & culture festivals in Mumbai with the launch of ‘Powai Fest’ by the Rotary Club of Bombay Powai .

 

The ‘Powai Fest’ is being organized jointly by the Rotary Club of Bombay Powai (RCBP) and  the Hiranandani Group of Powai. The first edition of the ‘Powai Fest’ is being dedicated to the everlasting memory of Dr.L.H Hiranandani the pillar of Powai.

Elaborates  Surendra Niranjan Hiranandani chief of the Hiranandani Group in Powai,   ” I wish the Powai Fest 2014 all the very best.Am glad many community leaders in Powai are organizing this festival,may their united efforts bring a bonding for Powai.”"

“The ‘Powai Fest’  2014 wishes to build on the community bonding offering a wider variety of sports and cultural events, food, drinks and entertainment. It will host various games and competitions. The event will also feature live musical performances,” Informs Rotarian R.Vanamali a Past President of RCBP , and a current Asst. Governor of the Rotary Dist. 3140 , “The Rotary Club of Bombay Powai was chartered on March 11, 1991. It is one of the most active Clubs in North-eastern part of Mumbai  and devoted to service and fellowship.  Rotary is a volunteer organization with more than 35,000 Clubs spread acroos more than 200 countries . Rotary International is the worldwide association of Rotary Clubs united under a motto of service above self. We welcome each of you to join the Powai fest 2014, come participate and join the festivities.” The membership of the Rotary Club of Bombay Powai has grown in multiples over last few years and it offers a stimulating fellowship based on a fascinating diversity of interests in business, arts, sciences and the professional expertise of its members.

 

Excitement for the festival is genuine and pervasive equally among the organisers and also the local community of Powai .

Speaking about the ‘Powai Fest’ and the various activities planned for the same,Rotarian K.Jaishankar from RCBP , the Chairman of this mega community event informs , ” The ‘Powai Fest’ is going to be an annual celebration of not only the Powai  culture featuring local, regional and  national music,  traditional cuisine; cultural exhibits and workshops but also have a wide variety of quality bonding events and entertainment bringing our community closer.”

From sports competitions to talent challenges, from cheerleaders to parades,From cyclothon to football,from nature walks to canine wonders, Powai Fest 2014 will have it all.
