Swimming Federation of India announces “Swimmathon 2015” at Colva Beach, Goa on 29th November 2015, receives overwhelming support from Goa Tourism

 Goa Tourism announces official support to India’s premier swimming event Swimmathon 2015 scheduled to be hosted on 29th November 2015 at Colva Beach, Goa. Swimmathon 2015 is also officially recognised by Swimming Federation of India (SFI) as the official Indian National Selection Trial for an International Event. The formal announcement of Goa tourism supporting Swimmathon 2015 was made by Mr. Nilesh Cabral, Chairman Goa Tourism Development Corporation and Ashish Agarwal, Managing Director – Square Off Sports Pvt. Lending added credibility and athletic prowess to the event, Virdhawal Khade India’s most accomplished and celebrated swimmer, has been roped in as Brand Ambassador for the Swimmathon 2015. An Arjuna Awardee, Vir holds the distinction of being the youngest Indian to qualify for the Olympics. With Vir’s eyes firmly fixed on the Olympics this year, organizers are delighted that the poster boy for Indian swimming has made time to encourage swimmers and promote the sport further. Adding another dash of excitement to the event, Talasha Prabhu, Goa’s Champion swimmer, has been roped in as the Female Brand Ambassador for “Swimmathon 2015”. An International Ace Swimmer, Talasha holds the distinction of having participated in various National & International Championships. She was the only Goan Swimmer to be selected for the Indian squad in the Common Wealth Games New Delhi in 2010.

The recognition of “Swimmathon 2015” by Swimming Federation of India (SFI) as the official national selection trial for open water swimming for International event has opened doors for Indian Open Water Swimmers with the fastest swimmer - Male & Female in both 5 KM & 10 KM race representing India in an International Event. The winners of last edition of Swimmathon qualified to represent India in the FINA World Championship held at Russia in July 2015.

With the Open Water Swimming now included in the list of sporting events for the Olympics, Swimmathon 2015, aims to encourage more swimmers to take up open-water swimming. With 19 categories of participants including one for differently abled athletes, organisers expect a significant interest in the event. Last edition of Swimmathon saw close to 600 participants, from across the country participating in various categories. This year promises an even better turnout. The aim of “Swimmathon” is to develop Open Water Swimming as a sport in India as well as to recognize the real talent from across the nation. Association of “Swimmathon 2015” with SFI will create a perfect competent breed of International level Swimmers. Swimmathon does not only identify International level swimmers but also tries to nurture them every year. Open water swimming poses unique challenges to the swimmers as there are no lane lines, walls or starting blocks to dictate what it takes to win. Unpredictable natural conditions often play a deciding role in determining the winner of such a race.

To enhance the safety of participants, the organisers have engaged professional lifeguard services. For cases where immediate attention might be needed, they have arranged for the involvement of lifeguard with hi-speed Gemini boats, swimming experts to accompany each category, and availability of jet-skis. They will also help Swimmathon with audit and risk assessment, planning, and deployment solutions to address any emergencies during the event. The organisers have also tied up with Manipal Hospital to provide us with complete medical and ambulance facilities on site and complete first aid & medical facilities on accompanying boats.

Mumbais Ajinkya Thakur to represent Indian for the International Karate Championship in Malaysia




Ajinkya Thakur from Mumbai has been officially selected for the International Karate Championship to be held in Kajan, Malaysia on 21st and 22nd November 2015. Ajinkya will be representing India in the 70-75 Kgs weight category.

The event has been organised by "WORLD FUNAKOSHI SHOTOKAN KARATE ORGANISATION". Having practised the sport for over 19 years under Master Ainul Shaikh, Ajinkya is very excited and is practising hard to represent the country at the International Championship.


Having won over 40 Medals including 23 Gold Medals at various Karate Championships in the country, Ajinkya is now looking forward to battle it out on an international platform and win accolades.

More than 1000 Houseful Shows of MSG-2 The Messenger in a day.



The Popularity index of MSG-2 The Messenger is rising non-stop, week after week. The Film has touched a new high with record 1000+ Shows in Haryana in its 8th week.  On its 54th day from the release, of MSG-2 The Messenger was screened in 127 Screens in 22 Cities in Haryana alone registering more than 1000 Shows in a day. These shows were all jam-packed with audiences waiting outside for their turn. This is one Film which has swept the whole country with its spell binding craze, The Film has entered 400 Cr. Club in its 8th week.




According to the makers, the week of festivities, in the wake of Diwali, The turnout has increased multi fold in Cinemas with tremendous response from the Audiences everywhere. The screening of the Film had started in the midnight itself, with audiences flocking the theatres throughout the day. 139 Shows were screened in Gurgaon, 142 in Faridabad, 52 in Sonipat and so on, the count of shows soon crossed 1000 in the entire state.



 According to Mr. C.P. Arora, Producer MSG-2 The Messenger, The Film had screened 777 shows in Rajasthan on 8th Nov., 707 Shows in Punjab and 468 in UP on 5th of Nov. apart from the records created by the cities like Faridabad, Bathinda etc.  The record breaking spell of Houseful Shows is on, for MSG-2 in the 8th week, it remains to be seen, which is the next state to come up with a bigger number, breaking the previous record. MSG-2 The Messenger might is the new trend setter in the Industry & other Movies might just follow suit taking cue from MSG-2!

Broadway Musical’s  Bollywood Evolution already launched before globally firstly for Zee Tv Mauritius in the year 2013 with the fresh evergreen songs written and composed like "Pyaar Hua Ikraar Hua" reprised, recreated and performed by the actors in their own voice. The musical consisted of more than 50 Bollywood numbers, 250 costumes, over 200 props and moving sets, hit dialogues, gracefully choreographed dance sequences with a compact cast and crew of 45 members who travelled worldwide.

Grilled watermelon with crab stick by the Executive Chef of Double Tree by Hilton, Pune~




Ingredients:


500 gm watermelon horizontally cut into half4 noscrab stick
100 ml lemon juice
15 ml sesame oilsalt and pepper to taste4 gm castor sugar5.5 oz. (156 g) Alaskan king crab meat½ cup (115 g) of finely sliced spring onionsfew pieces of red radish thinly 10 gm ginger cut into julienne8 pieces of edible flowers petals15 gmtogarashi powder

Ingredients for avocado puree:
1 ripe avocado peeled with pit removed5 gm ginger minceda pinch of wasabi paste5 ml lemon juice5 ml sesame oilsalt to tastehalf a pinch of togarashi powder


Method:
-Prepare the avocado puree by scooping, mashing and whipping with a whisk until smooth.
-Add all remaining ingredients to the avocado puree and whisk until fully incorporated and blended. Check for seasoning and adjust if  required. Keep refrigerated.
-Take the watermelon and cut into half horizontally, removing the outer rind and cutting into 4 rounds with a 2 cm thickness and 9 cm  diameter.
-Place the cut watermelon in a deep bowl to marinate with the lemon juice, sesame oil, spring onion, sugar, salt and pepper and set aside  for 5 minutes.
-Preheat the grill and quickly grill the watermelon for about 1 minute on each side or until nice grill marks are achieved, remove from the  heat and chill for 10 minutes.
-Over a heated hot plate, sear the crab stick and set aside.
-With a butter brush, lightly paint the base of the grilled watermelon with sesame oil, then gently press the finely sliced spring onions  onto the base of the watermelon to form a crust, shaking off any access onion.
-Place the grilled watermelon in the center on the plate.
-Place the chilled crab stick on top of the grilled watermelon.
-Put 3 dollops of the avocado puree on top and at the base of the crab stick and then garnish with thinly sliced radish, ginger julienne and  edible flowers then finally lightly dust with togarashi powder.

Serve immediately.
